A Delightful Visit from the Ladies of Combe Florey, WI

The Bowmen of Danesfield had the pleasure of hosting a wonderful group of ladies from the Combe Florey Women’s Institute for a ‘have-a-go’ archery session. The event was filled with laughter, learning, and a shared appreciation for this ancient sport.

The ladies arrived eager to try their hand at archery. After a short safety briefing and some expert guidance from our experienced club members, they took to the shooting line with enthusiasm. Seeing their confidence grow as arrows began hitting the target with increasing accuracy was fantastic. The spirit of friendly competition added to the fun, and there were plenty of cheers as the ladies celebrated their well-placed shots.

Following an exciting shooting session, we were treated to a delightful spread of homemade cakes lovingly prepared by the WI ladies. With a warm cup of tea in hand and an array of delicious treats to sample, we enjoyed a well-earned break while reminiscing about the highlights of the evening.

Not only did the ladies impress us with their archery skills and baking talents, but they also put together an excellent write-up for the WI magazine, capturing the joy and camaraderie of the evening. It was lovely to see the experience shared with a broader audience, and we’re thrilled that they enjoyed the session enough to reflect on it so fondly.

It was a pleasure to host such a friendly and enthusiastic group, and we hope the Ladies of Combe Florey, WI, enjoyed their introduction to archery as much as we enjoyed sharing it with them. We look forward to welcoming them back for another round of shooting and, of course, more tea and cake in the future!
