Induction and Beginner’s Course!

Upon you joining the club we will teach you how to get the best out of the sport but of course we will give priority to teaching you to be safe not only for you but all the others involved in this sport – your fellow archers and members of the public.

Whilst archery is a fantastic sport that blends focus, skill, and a touch of friendly competition. and whether you’re aiming for the thrill of competing or just aiming to have fun and make friends, your Induction and Beginner’s Course is the perfect way to dive into this exciting activity.

Designed under Archery GB guidelines, this course will introduce you to the fundamentals of archery in a welcoming and engaging environment.

Course Highlights

Comprehensive Training
The course covers all the essentials:

Safety Protocols: Understand the important safety measures to ensure a secure experience, for you and your fellow archers.

Equipment Handling: Get familiar with the different types of bows, arrows and related equipment.

Shooting Techniques: Learn the proper form and techniques for accurate shooting.

Competitions and Competing: You will discover that there are many ways to compete from club competitions, all the way through the counties to major events.

 

All-Inclusive Experience

Equipment Provided: In the early stages there is no need to invest in equipment right away as we supply everything you need.

Expert Instruction: Our experienced volunteer team will guide you through each step, ensuring you build a solid foundation in archery.

Family-Friendly Atmosphere

Archery is an activity that everyone in the family can enjoy together. Our classes welcome both adults and juniors, providing a fun and inclusive environment where everyone can learn and grow.

Course Details

Duration: Each session lasts approximately one and a half hours, giving you ample time to practice and improve.

Seasonal Shooting: We shoot outdoors during the summer and move indoors during the winter. While we usually proceed in gentle rain, we may adjust shooting dates for severe weather to ensure everyone’s safety.

Flexible Schedule: The course is designed to accommodate your schedule, making it easy to fit archery into your routine.

What to Expect

Under the guidance of our skilled volunteers, you will:
Induction Session: Begin with an introduction to the club, covering safety measures, equipment basics, and different styles of archery.
Hands-On Practice: Spend the majority of the session practicing your shooting with personalized feedback to help you improve.
Friendly Environment: Enjoy a supportive atmosphere where questions are encouraged, and learning is fun.

 

Equipment

Equipment is provided during the beginners’ course and you are welcome to use our equipment for up to three months after the course at which time you will be given advice on which equipment to purchase.

Please avoid buying any equipment before the course as there is the possibility that it will not be suitable for you.
