The December Awards and Competitions

Despite the interruption of the Christmas break in December, there were still some great results, with many personal bests and records broken.

Progress is being made in both the SCAA postal Portsmouth and Frostbite events..

December again saw several records broken, dominated by Finley, who smashed four club records.

December, there were two Longbow acheivments in the 252 Improvement competition

Rob Alexander – 252-40 yards Longbow

Finley Frith – 252-20 yards Longbow

Portsmouth

December saw several archers push up their score in the Portsmouth round and a special mention to Finley, he picked up a longbow and, on his first attempt,t achieved the 300 award

Elaine Foster – achieves an over 500 award with a score of 512

Finley Frith – achieves an over 450 award with a score of 472

Recurve

Donna-Marie Jarret – achieves an over 400 award with a score of 402

Portsmouth VAL Competition

The club is participating in the annual Virtual Archery League (VAL), an international competition held during the winter season for Portsmouth round submissions.

In its second month (December), the competition has seen several of our archers progress well in their respective divisions. Competitors vie only against others within their division, and awards are given to the top three positions: 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in each category.

Club Winter Handicap Competition

The Winter Handicap Competition for Portsmouth and Bray gives all of our archers the chance to compete against each other. Never mind what bow type, age, gender or experience they are because of the handicap on a level playing field.

December saw a new name at achieve the top spot in the Portsmouth Handicap – Elaine Foster.
