The July Awards and Competitions
This month has been exciting for our club, with several archers breaking records and reaching new milestones. It is brilliant to see!
Sarah-Louise Darwin had an outstanding month, setting multiple Women’s Recurve records, including 668 in the St Nicholas, 288 in the 252 at 30 yards, and 506 in the National 40. Courtenay Welsh also excelled in the Men’s 50+ Longbow category, with records of 222 in the National, 230 in the American, and 95 in the Warwick. Other highlights include Adrian Sharp scoring 739 in the Bristol III (Men 50+ Recurve) and Finley Frith achieving 232 in the 252 at 30 yards (Men U12 Barebow).
Our archers also reached seven new 252 milestones, showing their steady improvement. Andy Izard and Nick Heckscher stood out, alongside Heidi Berry, who hit the milestone at 20 and 30 yards.
Finally, Courtenay Welsh won 1st place in the Western Handicap with his Longbow, rounding off a fantastic month.
